Minis & Micro Minis

 

The dancers on our Micro--Minis and Mini teams are our youngest members of our competition team! Our Micro-Minis are between the ages of 5-7 and our Minis are between the ages of 8-10. These dancers attend technical classes to improve their technique in studies of ballet, tap and jazz as well as attending classes required for competition dance skills. These dancers attend dance three to four days a week. These dancers are preparing for the big stage by building staminia, confidence, flexibility, technique, control, ability to pick up choreography as well as learning how to work as a team rather than as individuals.

The team also has their own Team Technique day where they work on their jazz and tap technique as well as a day where they work on their ballet technique (focusing on the Balanchine method). These classes are each an hour long and work to improve the dancer's skill level as well as enhance the knowledge that they get in their standard technique classes as well. Micro-Minis and Minis are also given the oppourtunity to attend SHOCK! and JUMP! conventions to further their dance training and take Master classes from world-renounded choreographers.

The Minis and Micro-Minis attend three competitions during the competition season and may have pieces selected to attend a national competition that summer.

We focus on our Minis and Micro-Minis's being able to have fun while doing what they love as they take their training to the next level.
