Dance Explosion School of Performing Arts

The Select Team members are our oldest and more advanced members of our competition team! Our Select Teams are divided by both ability, technique, as well as dedication. Our Select Team is divided into "Juniors", "Teens" and "Seniors"  If our dancers are between the ages of 9-11, they are our Juniors, if our dancers are between the ages of 12-14, they are our Teens, and dancers between the ages of 15-18 are known as our Seniors. Junior team members may also be members of the Mini team and is invitational only. These dancers attend technical classes to improve their technique in studies of ballet, tap and jazz as well as attending classes required for competition dance skills. These include leaps and turns, tap technique, ballet technique, as well as acrobatics class. Within these classes dancers are able to extend their training by focusing on the importance of performance quality alongside with teamwork, and how they can individuality find growth through the support of their teammates. These dancers attend dance three to four days a week. This includes technique training cirriculum days, team technique days as well as those who further training and take privates as well. Due to their age, dancers on our Junior, Teen and Senior teams are eligible for small groups, large groups, solos, duets and trios. Dancers are also given the oppourtunity to attend SHOCK! and JUMP! conventions to further their dance training and take Master classes from world-renounded choreographers.

During the competition season, our select team attends three competitions. Selected dancers or dances are also given the oppourtunity to perform at additional competitions and Nationals at a set competition as well.

We focus on our Select Team being able to build staminia, confidence, flexibility, technique, control, ability to pick up choreography as well as learn how to work as a team to take their training to the next level.
